About Me

My name is Carmen Vera.

I'm a world traveler who writes about her experiences around the world and the people I encounter. I am a lover of aviation. I am a proud author to five works: British Men Destroyed My Life: The Travels of an American Gypsy, The Letter S, Before You, and Worthless Gold Coins by Kora Rae, and Grayspace. I am working on my 6th book Try Thai, details to be announced. A YouTube series will be following. I am working closely with MODOBO films

I am a vocalist with the love for music growing up. I am classically trained and have been singing for as long as I can remember. Music has always been a part of my life throughout my primary and upper education. I love being a musician and accompanying myself on the piano. It's always been my number one outlet and escape in my life. I always say: my favorite distraction. I am currently working on a few projects with my very talented guitarist, Tim Holiday. We are looking to tour around Orange County and Los Angeles County by the end of this year. Kylie Brown is assisting me in an upcoming event. We can't wait to share our big plans for all upcoming performances.

I am familiar with acting and performing. I am no stranger to the art of drama and theater. I love being a part of Central Casting in Burbank, CA and doing work for them part time.

I am a very proud atheist who thinks separation of church and state is important. Atheism is a luxury that many of us cannot afford. We must speak against the evils of religion and learn to believe in ourselves instead of ancient bronze age fairy tales.

I have been able to make a dream of mine come true. Since 2016 I began designing print shirts and accessories. It gives me pure satisfaction and happiness to see my ideas come to life. I have several lines including Carmen Vera by Carmen Vera--my "Petty wear", Carmen Vera Kids, Hoe Airlines, and soon to be Rich Sweetie in which I have partnered with fellow friend, Scott Gaines.

I am a humanist. I had a very positive upbringing with a father who was more than a role model. He was my hero. He passed in 2012 because of Parkinson's disease. In his honor of his birthday each year, I launch charity projects to help those in need and to continue to share his compassion to the world. Our current project is Baseball for the Thai Children. You can read more about it and donate on Gofundme. The link is available under "Humanist Projects".

I am a radio station owner of On Blast Radio with my co-host, now co-owner, Kiara Dupree. I am talk show host for the one and only, Vegas on Blast, in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am thrilled about this opportunity to work with Kiara. I cannot wait to see what this brings for my career in the long run. You can check us out on www.vegasonblast.com. Our episodes are available on demand on iTunes, Spotify, and most well known podcast platforms. This has been such a crazy experience that I have come to love and enjoy. And most of all, it's really fun! New episodes air every Wednesday night 9-11pm on Eyes Up Radio (Las Vegas) and On Blast Radio (Los Angeles, CA). Let's spill some tea!

I am a podcaster. My podcast supplements my book, Grayspace. I interview those who live their lives as well in the "grayspace" or the "inbetween". It is available on Spotify and iTunes, and again, most well known podcast platforms. This has been a liberating experience to listen to those. Having peoples' stories shared shines light on the tough times, and even the great times is a gentle reminder that we are different yet the same. My heart goes out to each and every person who interviews and the audience that listens. Search Grayspace: The Podcast to hear their stories.

All in all, I am a student in life--and that is never ending! When a mind is open, the world rushes in. I want to be a sponge that absorbs as much culture and knowledge. I seek to spread as much love and humor as possible. I want to be a light for humanity in that sense. Through obstacles in my past, I truly believe that everyone can be a light for humanity, even if it is a small one. It's all about what you bring to the table.

There are so many things in life that are mediocre. I personally believe that your career shouldn't be one of them. Do all the things you love and don't take no for an answer. Your happiness is much more rewarding above any and all else.

Yours,
